口語式短文：新的電視機

A new TV set:

•  My dad bought a new TV set last week. It's a 42-inch model made by LG.

• 我爸上星期買了一台新電視機，那是一台LG的42吋機型。

•  In fact, it wasn't the model we would buy at first.

• 事實上，那並不是我們本來想買的機型。

•  The story began as we walked through the aisle inside the department store.

• 故事是從我們走過百貨公司內的走道開始的。

•  The TV set salesman hailed us to take a look at the various models displayed there.

• 電視機銷售員招呼我們去看一看在那兒展示的各種機型。

•  My father would have liked to buy a Sony Bravia. Actually, he placed an order with the salesman.

• 我爸一直想買一台Sony Bravia，其實他也向那位銷售員下了訂單。

•  But the 32-inch model we'd like to buy was temporarily out of stock. We had to wait.

• 但是我們想買的32吋機種暫時缺貨，所以得等一等。

•  In between the time, dad changed the layout of our living room to accommodate a bigger TV set.

• 在此期間，爸爸把我們家客廳的擺設做了調整，以容納比較大的電視機。

•  And he learned that models made by LG are functionally better than Sony Bravia.

• 而且他也得知LG製造的機種在功能上比Sony Bravia來的好。

•  That's why now we have a big Korean-made TV set in our house.

• 這就是為什麼我們家現在有一台韓國製的大電視機了。
