口語式短文：回老家度假

Weekend vacations at grandpa's cottage:

•  Spending weekends at grandpa's cottage at Mei-Nong is the most joyful thing for me.

• 每個週末回美濃老家度假是我最開心的事。

•  Grandpa's cottage is a traditional three-section compound, which covers a big area.

• 老家是三合院式的建築，面積很大。

•  The once grain-basking field in front of the ancestral room is now used as parking space for guests and our playing field.

• 祖堂前面的晒穀場，現在是讓客人停車以及我們遊戲的廣場。

•  There is a big lawn behind the ancestral room. It's a paradise for somersaulting, throwing flying disk, and playing various outdoor games.

• 祖堂後面有個大草皮，是我們翻筋斗、丟飛盤以及玩各種戶外遊戲的天堂。

•  By the side of the big lawn, my maternal grandparents cultivate a small plot of land and grow fruits and vegetables.

• 阿公、阿媽在大草皮旁開墾出一小塊地種水果和青菜。

•  At the season when small tomatoes mature, we can always enjoy freshly plucked ones.

• 在小蕃茄成熟的季節，我們隨時都有現摘的小蕃茄可吃。

•  My grandparents use organic farming and natural methods, so the fruits and vegetables are fresh and healthy.

• 阿公、阿媽使用有機及天然的方法栽種，所以水果和青菜都很新鮮、健康。

•  Our family covers the west wing rooms. There's a smaller lawn behind them.

• 我們住在西進廂房，後面還有一個比較小的草皮。

•  Shirley, John and I often play baseball there. We all wish ourselves to be Chien-Ming Wangs!
