口語式短文：高鐵倒退嚕

The high speed train backed off :

•  Last week on Saturday, my dad took the high speed train starting from Zouying in the early morning to visit my paternal grandmother at Taoyuan.

• 爸爸上週六一大早從左營搭高鐵回桃園探望奶奶。

•  The train he took suddenly came to a stop before it arrived at Taichung station.

• 他搭的高鐵列車在到達台中站前突然停下來。

•  Passengers in the coach looked at each other without knowing what happened.

• 車箱內的旅客面面相覷，不知道發生什麼事情。

•  Before long, the train conductor broadcasted that owing to a switch signal failure in the railroad ahead, the train had to stop here temporarily.

• 不久，列車長廣播說前方的鐵軌轉轍器訊號故障，車子必須在此暫停一下。

•  As a matter of fact, the train stopped there for a very long period. Dad said that passengers taking this train to Taoyuan Airport to go abroad were getting nervous.

• 結果，一停就停了好久，爸爸說車廂內許多要到桃園搭飛機出國的旅客開始不安起來。

•  More than one month ago, my dad ran into the same trouble when he took a south-bound high speed train. The train couldn't switch to the platform line so it passed without stopping at Tainan station. And then it backed off to Tainan station.

• 一個多月前爸爸搭高鐵南下時也遇到同樣情況，列車無法轉入台南站月台軌道，所以它是在通過了台南站之後，再倒退回台南站。

•  But that train still arrived at the terminal station Zuoying on time.

• 不過那班列車最後還是準時到達終點左營站。

•  This time, when the high speed train my dad took finally arrived at Taoyuan, it was already late for one hour. Many passengers were angry, but my dad was very happy.

• 爸爸這次搭的高鐵列車到桃園時整整遲到了一個小時，許多旅客很生氣，但爸爸非常開心。

•  Because according to the rules, passengers can get full refunds if the train is late for one hour. So my Dad, not in a hurry on the road, had taken a free high speed ride!

• 因為根據規定，誤點達到一小時可以全額退費。不趕時間的爸爸搭了一次免費的高鐵！
