口語式短文:幫忙做家事

Doing family chores :

•  Every morning when I am still lying in bed, our family chores have already started. Mom or Dad goes out to buy breakfast and newspaper, while the other one at home prepares fresh milk and fruit for breakfast.

•  After getting up, I fold the quilt and make up the bed. And then I prepare my lunch box and water bottle for school.

•  It's usually Mom who's responsible for cleaning up the mess from breakfast. And then we three take turns to dump the litter and take reusable materials to recycling bins.

•  After taking me back home in the afternoon, before I begin my piano practice, Dad usually first prepares some fruit for me to eat, and takes advantage of time to wash and cook rice and to retrieve and fold clothes.

•  We usually eat dinner cooked by Mom at home. When Dad and I are having dinner, Mom would first clean up the oil stains in the kitchen.

•  After dinner, Dad is responsible for doing the dishes, cleaning up the table, and handling the leftovers. Now I always wash my lunch box by myself. Sometimes I forget about it, and Dad will wash it for me when he's doing the dishes.

•  Mom and Dad take turns to mop floors every day. And every other days they will first vacuum the floors before mopping them. When Dad's having classes at night, Mom would ask me to help her mop the floors.

•  Every day before taking bath, Mom will clean up the bathtub, washbasin, and toilet seat. And Dad will do the last chore in one day – hanging up the clothes for drying.

•  Sometimes I will help Dad hang up the clothes. First I hang the dehydrated clothes on hangers and use clothes clips to clip them, then Dad will hang them up on the clothes rack.
