口語式短文:生病看醫生

Go to a doctor :

•  Most of the time my body is healthy. But sometimes I catch cold or have a stomach upset.

•  Usually at the beginning when I feel unwell, mom and dad will first use some traditional methods to alleviate my symptoms, for example, telling me to drink more water or swallow some vitamin C tablets.

•  Sometimes I just let it alone and take more rest, and the symptoms will gradually disappear.

•  But when the symptoms keep on, I cannot but go to a doctor.

•  When I arrive at a doctor's clinic, first I need to register and then the nurse will take my temperature. After that I'll wait for the nurse to call my name.

•  After entering the doctor's room, the doctor usually first asks me the symptoms. Now I always try to answer the questions by myself, but mom and dad will usually help me explain my symptoms.

•  Afterwards the doctor will use the stethoscope to check my chest and back. Or he will tell me to open my mouth and use a tongue depressor to push my tongue down to see if there is inflammation in my throat.

•  Sometimes when I was at the doctor's room I already had a high fever, the doctor would tell the nurses to give me an injection to bring down my fever.

•  After consultation and treatment, we go get the medicine. Normally it consists of pills and oral liquid. I usually get well after taking medicine for one or two days.
